Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian German film and TV actress best known for her performances in movies such as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. Since she was the sole child of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra began her career in showbiz as a child. She was a lead actress in TV dramas as young as 16 years old. The audience was impressed by her portrayal as a character in Der Tunnel. This paved for her to play other memorable roles, including Adolf Hitler's secretary of state Traudl Junge. Other Oscar nominated films featuring the actress include The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Alexandra is engaged in numerous notable projects, both nationally as well as internationally. Among others, these projects include the British biographical film Control Greek Drama film The Dust of Time French Historical Miniseries Napoleon as well as many other. Her other roles include being an official jury member for two festivals: the Transylvania International Film Festival and Cannes Film Festival.
